Lisa Dube is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), family therapist, and educator licensed to practice in Massachusetts since 1995. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Maine and her Master of Social Work degree from Boston College.
She works with children, adolescents, individuals and their families who struggle with a variety of issues, including anxiety, life transitions, and ADHD. Lisa is highly specialized in working with anxiety and gender identity issues. Lisa subscribes to the philosophy that all of life's challenges present an opportunity for growth and learning. By building on strengths, Lisa helps individuals and their families to feel stronger, more confident and competent in their daily lives.
Lisa's previous training includes work as a treatment specialist in the U.S. District Court, where Lisa frequently problem-solved the most challenging mental health cases, with the goal of assisting persons on supervision with living successfully in the community. She later shifted her focus to use the extensive cognitive-behavioral (CBT) skills gained in this role to assist children and families.
In 2018, Lisa established a private practice focused on working with families, adults and children. Her practice, Merrimack River Wellness, has a special interest in the unique therapeutic needs of transgender and gender expansive youth, adults and their families.
Lisa has completed a year long intensive training program with Therapy Training Boston (TTB) on working with families, focused on assisting them in establishing a shared vision which focuses on their unique values and goals.
As a life-long learner, with a strong commitment to using the most current evidence-based practices, Lisa continues to build on her skills and is in the process of completing Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 training as well as continuing to obtain intensive training in the areas of gender identity, anxiety and ADHD.
